Through October 1-16th, the United States federal government came into what is known as a “government shutdown” after Congress failed to implement a legislation for the funds of 2014.
To put it plainly, on
October 17th, some of the more “important” government jobs were
brought back in. The effect of the shutdown, still active, has affected many
federal employees and non-government employees alike.
What effect does this
have on American job losses? Not to mention the million upon million job loss of
Americans from the 2008 recession. It is true, jobs have been created, but that
really doesn’t outweigh the amount that has been lost.
Imagine what further
impact this has on the United States condition!
This past Friday, October 25th, 2013 Obama made the following statement at a fundraiser for Democratic House candidates:
“It was a symptom of a larger challenge that we have, and that’s that too often our politics become detached from the day-to-day lives of everyday people. And ideology ends up overcoming common sense. Folks are more determined to beat the other side than they are to actually deliver for the people who sent them there.”

I asked a few of my
fellow American citizens of their opinion on the government shutdown or if and
how the effect of the governments economic condition has on
them.
Me: "Do you have an opinion on the government show down? That or just, a general opinion of the economic condition of the U.S? Has that effected you personally, how?"
Here are their responses:
"I just think its sad that compromise can't be reached, but the two parties just have such different views on what the role of the government is. Also our system was set up to be in balance which means compromise. They seem to have forgotten that. Jefferson warned about being too extreme in political beliefs, which is what we seem to have."

"Um, I think it happened cause Obama wanted to use the "non-essential" 800,000 workers pay jobs to fund Obama Care... we should pray for those families. Its Obama drama."

Here are their responses:
"To me, personally: The U.S
government is purposely trying to trick us using smooth speeches and Obama is
the president who is enforced to be the one to give the speeches because he is
the president. Congress and BOTH parties are all futility and more worried about
their own ego and pride when it comes to the sake of money and the American
people. It simply comes down to money, power, and control of "disguised" evil
nature to its citizens of the United States. Let us suffer while they
"peacefully" collect all the so-called paper that doesn't even exist anymore
because of the outrageous amount of debt we are in and have been in for years."
